Jakarta, 07-01-2023 – Customs and Excise is committed to continuing to encourage economic recovery, one of which is through the export of marine and fishery products in various regions in Indonesia. This time, Customs and Excise is serving the export of marine and fisheries products in the Merauke and NTT regions.
Head of the Customs and Excise Public Relations Section, Sudiro, said that his party would always support, facilitate and provide excellent service for export activities in Indonesia. “Indonesia is a maritime country, its marine products and fisheries are very abundant, it would be a shame if we don’t support and develop it, we are ready to help the community according to our authority,” he added.
In Merauke, Merauke Customs and Excise is again serving crab exports from the UD Mina Maro company. On Wednesday (30/06), UD Mina Maro succeeded in exporting 14 boxes of mangrove crabs to Hong Kong. This export is the first export activity after approximately 1 year of hiatus due to the impact of Covid-19.
This export is proof of the return of the economy in the eastern tip of Indonesia. Previously, from March 2020, UD Mina Maro stopped exporting due to the government’s lockdown policy due to Covid-19. “Now companies are exporting again, even more than they exported in 2020. “This export is a bright spot, because the economy seems to be starting to gradually improve,” said Sudiro.
Furthermore, from NTT, on Tuesday (29/06), Kupang Customs and Excise carried out supervision of fish export activities carried out by PT. Matsyaraja Arnawa Stambhapura (PT MAS) and PT. Laut Nusantara Champion (PT LNJ). The types of fish exported consist of red snapper and Anggoli snapper, destined for Singapore and Australia.
In the future PT. MAS and PT. LNJ will expand its product sales market, even throughout the world. “Recently fish exports have been frequent, almost every week, this indicates that fish commodities from NTT are needed on the world market. “Customs and Excise is ready to help exporters and prospective exporters to develop their businesses so that they can carry out export activities from NTT,” concluded Sudiro.
